Intensive behavioural therapy is a treatment for obesity. Through this treatment, patients get to learn how to change their eating and exercise habits. In the research, patients met with a registered dietician once every week for a month, and once every other week for the next 6 months. Throughout the therapy, if a patient lost weight, then once a month for an extra six months to talk about challenges and lifestyle changes. The dietitians discussed health risks and factors affecting their choices. the patients were given clear, specific, and personalised advice.
